A branded product line needs an approved definition for each SKU. Separate the component specification from the branding and packing decisions before committing to a launch.
Confirm supply scope per part
Begin with radiator and intercooler requirements. Each part needs its own supply confirmation; non-core families require separate review before inclusion.
- SKU register
- List your part code, product family, starting reference, planned quantity and launch priority.
- Approval owner
- Name who can approve the component and who can release brand artwork; these may be different people.
Define the approval deliverables
Request a project-specific approval pack that distinguishes the physical product, its presentation and the checks required before release.
- Product definition
- Agree a drawing revision, sample review scope, critical features and any unresolved deviations.
- Artwork and identification
- Confirm logo files, placement, part labels and the association between your SKU and the approved component.
- Packaging approval
- Review protection, pack contents, carton markings and any buyer-required packaging assessment before accepting the packing specification.
Keep the reorder file versioned
Repeat orders should cite the approved product, artwork and packaging versions. A brand name alone is not an adequate reorder specification.
- Change approval
- Record the proposed change, affected SKUs, approving person and the order from which it applies.
- Release records
- Agree which inspection and packing records accompany each order, and review exceptions before release.
