A complete production drawing is not required for the first inquiry. Send the information you have, name the component and explain what you need to change or replace.
What your starting reference should include
Identify what the reference establishes and what remains uncertain. A measured detail, a catalogue number and a vehicle photograph answer different questions.
- Drawing
- Identify the current revision, units and dimensions that must remain unchanged.
- Sample
- Describe its condition and share all-side photos before arranging physical shipment.
- OEM number
- Include the number, vehicle details and any label or installation photos; a number alone does not establish fitment.
- Vehicle or dimensions
- Describe the vehicle configuration, available space, connection positions and what is still unmeasured.
Give the review a commercial context
Add the intended use, requested quantity and target schedule. Separate confirmed requirements from estimates so the first discussion can focus on the gaps.
- Reference component
- An existing product image can explain the form you mean, but is not a fitment or specification approval.
- Sensitive material
- Agree confidentiality and handling before sharing sensitive material; request an NDA for review.
